abstract

An essay about a wildlife biologist and game expert who devoted his life to the development of Ukraine’s hunting industry, the improvement of sustainable wildlife management practices, and the monitoring of wild animal populations, and the preservation of natural diversity. After graduating from Dnipro State University, he began his professional career in the harsh north, on Wrangel Island, where he studied the Arctic fauna and worked on the protection of vulnerable species. Upon returning to Ukraine, he spent many years at Zaporizhzhia National University, sharing his knowledge with new generations of natural scientists. He made a significant contribution to the establishment of higher education in wildlife management in Ukraine.
